Welcome to Y4MM.
Visit this page throughout the year to see what we have been doing in and out of school.
Watch our e-saftey video which was written, recorded and organised by the children in 4MM! Some great advice that will help you stay safe online whilst making the most of the internet!
Some members of Year 4 attended a robotics day and were able to create their own robots and go head to head with other schools in their very own robot wars. The final was AMBERLEY VS AMBERLEY!
In Year 4 we have been working to make our school hedgehog friendly by creating hedgehog homes out of recyclable materials. We have conducted field research to find the best location and will be working with our Eco Warriors to help give hedgehogs a long lasting home at Amberley.
We had a fantastic afternoon with Dave from StaySafe who came to talk to Year 4 about staying safe and anti-bullying. In 4MM we do a lot of work around kindness and well-being and this has gave us a lot of inspiration going forward. Thank you Dave!
Our current class novel is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We have loved exploring the characters, settings and language in the book. We have been having great fun pitching our own sweet inventions to Wonka himself, finding golden tickets to introduce our descriptive writing tasks and creating persuasive adverts for the new 'Tripple Fudge Delight' from Wonka's Factory.
Maths in fun in Year 4 and we love to learn in a range of ways including practical and active lessons. Practising our times tables in one of our favourite times of the day. We battle it out whilst channeling our inner rock star using Times Tables Rockstars or mixing times tables with our favourite chart songs. Have a little look below...
We love all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. Recently, we have met lots of people in different STEM careers, conducted exciting experiments and use recycled materials to create new designs and products. Below are some pictures of our most recent lessons.
We LOVE P.E in Year 4 and take as many opportunities as we can to participate in sporting events outside of our normal curriculum that enable to test the skills we have learnt in a fun, competitive environment. We always display excellent sportsmanship and resilience. Recently we have competed in a North Tyneside Swimming Gala, Hockey Tournament, Skipping Tournament, ran 210 laps for sports relief and faced the great outdoors at High Borrans!
