Year 5 ML

Welcome to Y5ML!

This term, we are 'Comparing People and Places!' We will be locating regions and cities in Europe, North and South America. We will also be researching capital cities, comparing different cultures, studying the Earth's horizontal and vertical lines and comparing human and physical geography features of 3 areas.

Year 5 - Comparing People and Places

During a this difficult and uncertain time of the pandemic, as a class we thought it was important to thank our school staff! This was a lovely kind thing to do! Thank you Year Five ML!

Year Five Kindness

Year Five Tudors- Knowledge Organiser

During our Autumn term, we started our History topic of Tudors! We stepped back into time and researched the various monarchs and created a fact file for each one. We also created 'Top Trump' cards to compare our monarchs to each other!

Year five- Tudor topic planning

Rivers Writing- our final two page spreads!

During our design and technology week, we created magnetic games which were based around pollution and looking after our rivers of the world. We used paint and felt to create them! They worked so well and the children loved creating them!

Design and Technology Week - Rivers

Our Geography Knowledge Organiser -Rivers

In September, year five started their term with a geography topic- Rivers! We explored different rivers around the world; from the River Nile to our very own River Tyne! In geography we located rivers on a world map, used sketching in a virtual fieldwork lesson, labeled the various elements of a river and described and explained the water cycle!
