Attendance and Punctuality at Amberley Primary School

Promoting School Attendance, Getting to School - On Time- Every Day!

Attending school has a huge impact on children's academic success starting from Nursery right through to High School. Research shows that pupils with high levels of school attendance are more likely to benefit from education, achieve better exam results and go on to have more successful careers.

Families play a key role in making sure their children get to school safely and on time.

Parent Leaflet

At Amberley, we are committed to helping you get your child to school regularly and on time.

Click here for our handy guide for some tips to help you as parents communicate the importance of attendance to your child.

What is Persistent Absence?

If your child takes too much time off school they will become considered as PA or persistently absent. (Attendance below 90% = persistent absence). Missing school will make your child fall behind in lessons and will impact on their academic progress and achievement.

Promoting excellent attendance to ensure that your child makes every minute of every lesson of everyday count.

Be aware of how much learning time is lost with increasing numbers of days absent:

Reporting your child's absence

Please call school on 0191 8140970;

                     Please leave a message on the school's absence line (option 1)

                                         explaining what is wrong with your child;

Please do this for each day of your child's absence.

Punctuality Matters

Being punctual means.........

                         ..............making sure your child is at school on time and ready to learn.

These children are receiving their 100% certificates for attending school every day in the Summer Term!
