Promoting School Attendance and
getting to School on time, every day!
Attending school has a huge impact on children's academic success starting from Nursery right through to High School. Research shows that pupils with high levels of school attendance are more likely to benefit from education, achieve better exam results and go on to have more successful careers.
Families play a key role in making sure their children get to school safely and on time.
Reporting your child's absence
Please call school on 0191 8140970 to leave a message on the school's absence line (option 1) with the name and class of your child and a reason for the absence.
Please do this for each day of your child's absence unless otherwise advised.
What is Persistent Absence?
If your child takes too much time off school they will become considered as PA or persistently absent. (Attendance below 90% = persistent absence). Missing school will make your child fall behind in lessons and will impact on their academic progress and achievement.
Promoting excellent attendance to ensure that your child makes every minute of every lesson of everyday count.
