Our topic this half term is Geography based and we are learning about 'The UK'. We are learning about the four countries of the UK and its capital cities. 

Other curriculum areas:

In English this half term we have been using the book 'The Queen's Hat' to write our own 'lost and found' stories. We have been using similes and adjectives to make our writing more descriptive as well as checking back to ensure we have remembered full stops, capital letters and finger spaces.  

In Maths this half term the children are using part part whole models to explore numbers up to ten and see how they are made of five and a bit. We are looking at odd and even numbers more closely to see how they fit into a part part whole model. We have explored 2D shapes and created repeating patterns with them. 

In Science the children are exploring materials and their properties, and are testing to see if they are waterproof. 

In Computing lessons the children have explored algorithms and how to de-bug them.
